Vale was an exhibition at the Nebraska Arts Council’s Fred Simon Gallery of drawings of my late wife.
I’ve been toying with drawing, again, as with this study of Signe. I might do more in the future, but for now my focus is on the next iteration of the Museum of Alternative History and the accompanying book.
Drawing and Painting combined
There was a time when I used to combine media in this fashion. In this case, I was combining graphite with oil painting, but also combining 3D rendered realism with flat colorful abstraction. In hindsight, it was likely an homage to my college mentor, John Thein. Even though I don’t work this way at all, anymore, I still enjoyed the process and the results.
