Colors of Uganda

I used to live and work in Bophuthatswana, Africa, many years ago, on the southern border of Botswana. They were free-state areas which I don’t believe exist by that nomenclature or geographic designation, anymore.

I returned to the continent five more times in the following years, to Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (among other countries).

On one of the trips to Uganda, while creating a documentary film with colleagues and students, I took hundreds of minimal and abstract photos of various scenes as we traveled around the country. I loved the colors and patterns. I took them purely for aesthetic reasons.

These are a handful of those images.
