Stereo views of mushroom clouds

I included stereo photography in the exhibition, mainly in response to stories I heard while I lived in Nevada, where kids would be let out of school to witness the nuclear tests and watch the mushroom clouds rise above the horizon.

I included a combination of both authentic stereo imagery captured by the US government during the tests, but also created mashups with old 1950’s stereo imagery I collected and mushroom clouds from the government images.

In hindsight, it was the first hint of the Museum of Alternative History, which would come nearly a decade later.
